There we lay as if time stood still
On that isolated hill
The sound of the wind was a trill
through the trees
Shimmering like disco balls of black and silver leaves
The rush carried the faint echoes from the stream
Of the jazz band playing just for me
and you
Planes flew
past white clouds in the blue
And birds darted through
the sky
Runners came and passed us by
The world had turned its eye
And had left just you and I
And I was tranquil
The rhythm of your heartbeat held me still
My bated breath was held
Planes and birds and man
They all move because they can
But my heart was immobile in your hands
For it felt true
All along
it knew that it belonged to you
My love shall never move.
I am home.
